Bugs. There is more troubles with Aide UI, i'm afraid
Just tried this and it works fine, so its probably a mistake in your code meaning you suck!!
The code works as you say but not the Aide Designer that reproduce the xml code and that was the issue here.
Also, this issue was confirmed by the Aide team and covered Android 11.

So if the AIDE team already confirmed this issue what was the point in making this thread 
Also the way you worded your post is misleading you said AIDE UI not AIDE UI designer how are people suppose to know your on about the UI designer and not just the UI of AIDE itself.
Now i know what your talking about i can also reproduce this bug, but still think you could of worded your post better. I also agree this bug sucks but it is what is, if you havent noticed the app doesnt seem to be getting developed anymore.
